Each case is assigned to a caseworker on an alphabetical basis. The caseworker is responsible for enforcement of child support, medical support, and parenting time orders. The caseworker is also responsible for investigation and statutory review of support orders. Your caseworker can be reached by phone 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.. Caseworkers are unavailable for calls on Tuesday mornings. However, messages can be left via voice mail. You may also contact your caseworker in writing, by fax, or by scheduling an appointment. Caseworkers are not always available on a walk-in basis due to court preparation and appearances, so clients are strongly advised to schedule an appointment. Additionally, many case specific questions can be answered by the office's automated voice response system. This system allows clients to access their account information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Available information includes specific account data such as last payment received, checks issued, and enforcement information. Information is updated on a daily basis. Call toll free: 1-877-543-2660. You will need your case number to access this system. Case information can only be given to parties and attorneys of record. Do not ask a third party such as your present spouse/partner, parents, or friend to request information on your behalf. Friend of Court staff is prohibited by law from discussing your case with nonparties. Much of the information provided to the Friend of the Court is confidential and must be handled on that basis by the staff. Of course, the staff may discuss your case and cooperate with your attorney. Inform your caseworker of agreements between you and the other party. If you enter into agreements with your former spouse/partner about custody, child support, or parenting time, be sure that the Friend of the Court office is informed. Some of these agreements may require amendments or changes to your Judgment or Court Order. If informed of the agreement, your caseworker can advise you as to whether changes are necessary, and guide you in this process. Legal advice is not available from the staff. If you need legal advice, you are strongly encouraged to consult a private attorney. |
