Compost Center

No "back-forty" for a compost or brush pile? Drop off your yard waste at the Emmet County Compost Center. It's part of the Drop-off Center at 7363 Pleasantview Road outside Harbor Springs.

Cost:	$.50 per 30-gallon can/bag
	$4 per cubic yard (six 30-gallon bags)
	$2 per cubic yard for loads over 5 yards at a time
	PAPER BAGS ONLY, PLEASE
	Plastic bags create all kinds of trouble for composting programs!

You'll find three bunkers to put your yard waste in at the Compost Center. Use which ever best fits your load.

• Brush: for woody brush, log, and branches (and the leaves on them are fine too).


• Evergreens: for evergreen bushes, trees, clippings, and needles.


• Yard Waste: for leaves, stems, weeds, grass clippings, and twigs.
